This past Saturday, May 2, 2015, several of our Kaufman Law team members participated in the annual All Kids Count Family 5K at Sweetapple Elementary. This fun morning event included a 5K run/walk, music, food, a bouncy house, a vendor market, and awards and prizes after the race.
This event contributed to helping the Foster Cares Support Foundation, an organization that serves foster children and their families all across Georgia, to provide for an average of 3,000 foster children this year. Recently, over 150 foster girls from all over Georgia came to the Foster Care Support Center in Roswell, GA, where they were given prom dresses, shoes, make-up, purses, jewelry, and shawls for upcoming prom events. Proceeds to the Foster Cares Support Foundation help to continue to provide for foster children and their families so that they do not go without many basic necessities that we take for granted. According to Mary Jackson, the event coordinator for the foundation, the state only gives foster parents about $19 a day to take care of a child, and that amount is not nearly enough.
